Disney’s theme parks can be quite the adventure. Days inside each one can be spent running to the different rides, watching all the shows, and even watching the parades. Oh, and don’t forget the fireworks each night! But did you know your family can have an easier time managing it all once you know the do’s and don’ts of each park? You can, and it will be a game-changer! Today, I am going to focus on the do’s and don’ts for a Hollywood Studios family vacation. Follow these tips and see how much easier it is to navigate the park. And check off all your to-dos from your list.
One of the best tips I can give you is to make your park reservations ASAP for Hollywood Studios. Now that Galaxy’s Edge and Toy Story Land are open, people have been flocking to this park like crazy! If you forget to make your park reservation or don’t make it soon enough, you may not be able to visit this park during your family vacation.
This Star Wars ride is not one of the options on the Disney Genie+ pass. If you want to skip the very long line for this ride, you will need to purchase a Lightning Lane pass. This is one of the a la carte options that sell out quickly each day.
I recommend being ready to purchase your Lightning Lane passes at 7 am on the morning of your visit. If you wait any longer, you may be out of luck.
It is very important that you have a plan when you enter Hollywood Studios. You should know which ride you want to ride first, second, third, and so on. If you don’t have a plan, you will find yourself walking in circles and waiting forever for the most popular rides.
To get your family started, the three rides that always have the longest wait times include Slinky Dog Dash, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, and Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway. Head to the ride your family wants to go on the most first, and then go down your list.
You may want to skip sit-down meals while at Disney’s theme parks. However, there are a few excellent themed restaurants at Hollywood Studios. You won’t want to miss your chance to dine at either 50s Prime Time or the Sci-Fi Dinner Theater Restaurant.
You definitely want to make your reservations as early as you can for these restaurants because these tables fill up fast.
There are snacks and drinks everywhere at Hollywood Studios. You will find green or blue milk in Galaxy’s Edge. Lunch Box Tarts are popular in Toy Story Land. And adults will love the Grown-Ups Lemonade at Woody’s Lunch Box. Oh, and the Bavarian pretzels at the Baseline Tap House are beyond yummy.
You may be so busy trying to find your way around this park that you miss out on all the characters you pass along the way. You just never know when Mickey, Olaf, Chewbacca, or Kylo Ren may pop up in front of you. Be ready to pose for pictures, and don’t forget to smile!
As amazing as these two lands are during the day, they are even better at night. Once the sun sets, these lands begin to glow. In Toy Story Land, strings of lights go across the walking paths. In Galaxy’s Edge, the entire area is covered in shades of purple and blue.
These are the do’s and don’ts you will want to remember when visiting Hollywood Studios for a family vacation. If you follow these tips, your family will enjoy their time in this park even more.
