Traveling around the world allows you to experience new things while seeing new destinations. And what better way to do all this than with your family. Kids, parents, grandparents, and even aunts, uncles, and cousins can make memories while having adventures of a lifetime! If you are searching for a unique place to visit for your next family vacation, let me recommend India. This incredible destination offers gorgeous views, delicious cuisine, and some of the best attractions in the world. Today, I am sharing a sample itinerary for eleven days in India. If what you see piques your interest, I would be more than happy to personalize an itinerary for your family vacation in India.
Your amazing vacation in India with your family will begin in New Delhi. After checking into your hotel, you can explore on your own or lounge by the pool. You will want to start your family trip off right, so you aren’t worn out right away!
A lot of walking will be done in New Delhi on day two of your family vacation. You will begin on the streets of Old Delhi. At one point, you will get onto a rickshaw to see the views from a different vantage point.
Your family will have fun seeing the old attractions, talking to the shop owners, and eating unique street foods.
From Old Delhi, you will continue to India Gate, Bangla Sahib Gurudwara, and Qutub Minar.
On day three of this amazing vacation in India, you will find yourself in Agra. This gorgeous city is where the Taj Mahal is located.
Save your energy, because after you see the Taj Mahal, there are other attractions to visit. A couple of those attractions are the Shahi Jama Masjid Mosque, Agra Fort, and Itmad-ud-Daulah’s tomb.
If you are not too tired in the evening, you can head out to enjoy a show. The Mohabba Taj Show is a live performance that shares the story of the Taj Mahal.
The city of Jaipur has earned the nickname, Pink City. This is due to all the salmon-hued terracotta buildings lining the streets.
Today’s adventure will include the drive to this city. After checking into your hotel, the day is yours to do as you please.
It is all about the attractions in Jaipur during this part of your family vacation in India. Today, you will see Amer Fort, Jaipur City Palace, and Jantar Mantar Jaipur. This last attraction is an observatory.
A quick plane ride will have you in Majorda on the west coast of India. This is a beachside town that has quite the vibrant nightlife.
I recommend heading down to the beach after you check into your hotel.
After a hearty breakfast at your hotel, it will be time to go out to explore Old Goa. This ancient capital is known for its churches. Start with the Basilica of Bom Jesus. Inside, you will see the sacred relics of St. Francis Xavier.
Across the street from the Basilica is Se Cathedral. Look closely at the façade to see the Golden Bell. This is the largest bell in Asia.
After you see both churches, it will be time for lunch. A spice plantation is the perfect spot to grab a bite to eat. Take a tour to learn about all the spices grown at the plantation. Then enjoy a buffet lunch prepared with many of those same spices.
This day of your family vacation in India will be yours to enjoy on your own. Feel free to spend it at the pool or spa!
Another day of flying is necessary if you want your family to see the beauty of Mumbai. This will be another laidback day once you arrive at your hotel.
You should always try to do at least one unique thing while on family vacations. While in India, I recommend heading out on to the Elephant Caves. There are no elephants in India. However, there used to be a massive elephant sculpture here.
When you arrive at Elephant Caves, you will see lots of rock cut architecture, as well as art from medieval India.
After you explore the caves, you may want to consider visiting the No Footprints Entrepreneur’s Entourage to see one of the largest slums in Asia. Or you can visit the Prince of Wales Museum.
Today will be the day to start reliving the memories you made during this amazing vacation in India with your family. You won’t have much time to say your goodbyes to this magnificent country, as you will need to head to the airport for your flight home. Use the time you do have to capture those last memories and pictures. Then talk about your experiences with whichever family members are awake during the flight.
There are so many other experiences you can have while on an amazing vacation in India with your family. I would love to personalize an itinerary for your family, so you can see the sights and do the activities you all want to do while away from home.
