I don’t know about you, but with each passing birthday, I prefer experiences over things. I don’t want another flowering plant, blender, or home decor. Give me a vacation with my family and I will be as happy as can be! Each one will have you making memories with your family, as you go on thrilling adventures and participate in numerous activities. And yes, I can even make sure you have a little time to enjoy on your own. After all, it is your birthday!

Ring Road in Iceland 

Iceland may sound like a terrible birthday vacation destination. However, I promise you this country has everything you are looking for. And no, you won’t freeze either!  

One of my favorite parts of Iceland is Ring Road. This road is eight hundred and twenty miles long. Driving along it is one of the best ways to see most of this country.  

A few of the sights you will see include waterfalls, black sand beaches, and charming villages. Just make sure you stop at the Blue Lagoon. It is the best place for that downtime you are searching for. And your family won’t complain about getting to soak in the warm spring water either.

Greenland 

If you do not mind the cold and the snow, Greenland might be the perfect destination for your birthday vacation with family. This country is the complete opposite of Iceland. It is cold and snowy most of the time in Greenland.  

Spend time in Nuuk, as you learn about the history of this country at the national Museum of Greenland. Go down towards the water to see narwhals gliding along in the water. And you won’t want to forget about the opportunity to see the Northern Lights.  

Maharajas Express in India 

Sometimes, you need to visit more than one city for a birthday destination vacation. This is especially true over in India. While your main focus will be seeing the Taj Mahal, there is so much more to see in this country.  

So, jump on board the Maharajas Express with your family. This train will take you from Delhi to Mumbai, while stopping at Jaipur along the way. Your family can ride in style, as you are catered to by butlers.  

Kruger National Park 

Heading out on a safari is usually near the top of every travel bucket list I see. So, why not make Kruger National Park in South Africa your birthday destination?  

There are plenty of luxurious resorts to choose from near this park. So, you will have all the amenities you desire during this wild adventure. I will make sure you have the chance to go out on as many safaris as possible while you are here. This will ensure you see as much of the wildlife as possible, including the African lions and leopards.  

Japan 

Japan can be a fascinating destination at any time of the year. However, I recommend visiting during cherry blossom season. The cherry blossoms bloom in the spring. Therefore, the best time to visit is the end of March and beginning of April for peak blooms.  

The best part though is you can attend many of the Cherry Blossom Festivals while on vacation in Japan. Plus, see all the other attractions this country is known for.  

The EBC Trek in Nepal 

Your family may not be ready to conquer the hike to the top of Mount Everest. But they may be willing to try the EBC trek in Nepal. This walk will have you wandering through quiet villages in this country.  

There are swinging bridges to cross during this walk. But conquering those bridges will bring you closer to the mountain bakeries you will stop at along the way.  

The end of this journey will have you at the bottom of Mount Everest. If you can make it there, you will be able to claim the bragging rights for the best birthday ever!  

Galapagos Islands 

If hiking in frigid temperatures isn’t your thing, a trip to the Galapagos Islands might be. This secret hideaway, which isn’t so secret anymore, has everything you will want for a family vacation in paradise.  

Head out on a boat for a cruise. Dive deep into the water to see marine life. And hang out with the Galapagos tortoises. Hopefully you can meet the tortoise that is more than one hundred years old.
