Single women often want to venture out to experience the world. However, most of the time, these women skip traveling the world for numerous reasons. I have discovered that quite a few single women have valid reasons to stay home and skip solo travel. Today, I am sharing a few of the things I have learned that are preventing solo women travelers from experiencing the world. If you notice you have a few of the same concerns, we are going to need to chat, so I can help you see how you can thoroughly enjoy this time away by yourself.
Time
Okay, so solo women travelers often feel the same time constraints everyone else has when trying to plan vacations. However, sometimes, these women feel it even more.
Maybe they must work two jobs to pay the bills and have money left over for fun. And juggling time off that matches between the two jobs may be a headache they don’t want to deal with.
There are thousands of reasons why women think they don’t have the time to travel. But if you are one of those women, be aware that planning time off and heading off on a fabulous solo vacation is going to be worth it. Especially when you return all relaxed, rejuvenated, and ready to plan your next adventure!
Pets
Pets are another reason why women don’t want to leave home for any length of time. They love their cat, dog, hamster, or whatever animal they spend time talking to.
While I understand not wanting to leave your pets, you can easily arrange for a close friend or family member to watch them while you are embracing your life as a solo woman traveler. You can even hire a pet sitter or house sitter, so your pets are never alone while you are traveling the world.
Divorce/Separation
Divorces or separations can wreak havoc for everyone involved. As a now single woman, you may not think you have the ability to jet off whenever you wish to see new destinations.
Yes, traveling as a single woman will be a little bit of a learning curve for you, but the freedom you feel will be wonderful. Imagine taking a vacation where you are the only one choosing what you are doing each day. There will never be any disagreements over what you want to do.
Dining Alone
Dining alone… When was the last time you went to a restaurant and ate a meal alone?
It has probably been a while because no one really likes eating solo.
However, the next time you go to a restaurant, make it a point to see how many people are sitting at tables, or at the bar, without a companion. The number is going to be higher than you think. Unless of course, you do this experiment on Valentine’s Day.
When you are a solo woman traveler, you should embrace the entire dining alone experience. Take this time to jot down memories in your journal. Plan activities for the next day. Or simply replay a few of your favorite experiences from your time away from home.
All while you are savoring a delicious meal.
Safety Concerns
Safety concerns are probably the number one reason why most women will not travel solo. They don’t want to find themselves in a scary situation. But honestly, you wouldn’t be much safer if you were traveling with a partner or a spouse.
Plus, almost everywhere is a safe destination for solo women travelers. Especially if you stay in certain areas in each destination.
Single Supplement Costs
Single supplement costs are extra fees solo travelers pay when vacationing alone. It is a way for travel groups to recoup some of the money they are losing by only booking one person into a room.
These fees can add up over time, however, as a travel advisor, I can help you find vacations where single supplements are not charged. I can guarantee that fee is the only thing you will be missing during your solo woman traveler vacations!
These are the main things that prevent solo women travelers from experiencing the world. I am sure there are some women who have other reasons for not wanting to venture out on a solo adventure. And those reasons would be just as valid. If you are having these same concerns but want to finally take the time to see a new destination, let’s connect for a planning session today.
