Lexington, Kentucky, has long been known for its distilleries. However, nowadays, you can add food and culture to your list of things to do in Lexington. When vacationing in Lexington, you must make sure you spend some time in the Distillery District. This area has twenty-five acres you can wander around. It was the best place to find bourbon starting in 1879 until the area was abandoned in 1958. Thankfully, the Distillery District was brought back to life in 2008.
This is a distillery that was in the Distillery District for many years before it shut down and then reopened. Its whiskey is better than ever. You can take a distillery tour before having a few tastes that include the raw distillate known as White Dog.
Families of all sizes will love grabbing a few pizzas during a family vacation. As an adult, you will love the two hundred-plus varieties of bourbon available at the bar. I recommend sitting outside on the patio, so you can watch the people wandering around the Distillery District.
If whiskey and bourbon are not your things, no worries! I have you covered with Ethereal Brewing! They brew everything from IPAs and Witbiers to a few beers that are considered unusual. This is a family-friendly destination that welcomes dogs too!
At the end of a day during a family vacation, there are times you need some ice cream. The Crank & Boom Ice Cream Lounge is the perfect spot. Everything they serve is made in-house. While you can order a plain cone, you might want to consider the Stout Dreams. It is a cocktail made with coffee stout ice cream and Buffalo Trace bourbon cream. Basically, yumminess at its best!
The Manchester Music Hall was a warehouse for bourbon back in the 1800s. Nowadays, it is a concert venue. You can usually find a concert taking place every weekend and other events throughout the week.
Art lovers will love the chance to walk around Ms. Renzy Studio. This art studio is fifteen hundred square feet. It focuses on local artists. Some of the artists can be found there when the studio is open. This allows everyone to ask questions about the art before making purchases.
These are only a few of the amazing places to find the best food, drinks, and culture in the Distillery District in Lexington. There are so many other places you can wander into and visit during your vacation in Lexington. I would love to know which areas are at the top of your list.
