Are you trying to find a way to reconnect with your partner? Lately, do the days seem to all blend together, as you both check tasks off your to-do lists? Is there never enough time to actually say more than a quick hello or good night? Well, you can change that this Valentine’s Day, or during another time this year, by planning a fabulous trip to some of the amazing romantic destinations in the world! I have discovered a few destinations that will have the romance back in your life, as you both remember why you fell in love.
No one can deny that Venice screams romance! The winding canals will beckon to you until you give in and take that gondola ride. Long walks through medieval alleys will only add to the romantic escape, as you see sights like Doge’s Palace. Make sure you venture over to Piazza San Marco one night to experience the beauty under the bright moonlight. A quick trip to Murano to see the artistic glass and a performance at La Fenice are two other incredible options for your romantic vacation in Venice.
Romance is everywhere in Napa Valley, which is why it is such a popular destination throughout the year. If you decide that this is your romantic destination of choice to reconnect with your partner, you will have lots of activities to choose from. Long drives through the countryside, as you stop at winery after winery is an excellent option. With more than four hundred wineries, you could spend your entire romantic vacation doing this activity. However, if time is short, or you don’t want to drive, I recommend the Napa Valley Wine Train. This three-hour train ride will have you stepping back in time, as you relax and enjoy each other’s company.
Mauritius may be a small island, but it is packed with multiple romantic activities for Valentine’s Day. The soft sandy beaches will offer you both the downtime you deserve. Swimming with the dolphins during a boat tour will have you and your partner laughing and connecting like you haven’t for quite some time. This off the beaten path destination will even have you visiting Hindu temples in between all your other adventures.
Each Hawaiian Island offers something unique in the romance department for Valentine’s Day. Over on Oahu, you can learn all about Hawaiian culture and surf at Waikiki Beach. The Big Island of Hawaii is perfect for when you want to be out in nature exploring. And Maui offers hiking trails near volcanoes, as well as pristine sandy beaches for lounging.
Imagine walking with your partner along the sparkling white sands of an island in the middle of the Adriatic Sea. This is just what part of your days will look like when you decide to take a romantic vacation in Santorini. Walking amongst the whitewashed building hand in hand will offer you those little moments you don’t get back home. While this island is perfect for romance, you can combine a visit in Santorini with a few days over in Athens. Or you can island hop to really get the authentic Greek Island experience.
Island hopping is also popular down in the Florida Keys. A quick drive from one island to another can have you experiencing different vibes. This is perfect if you want to bar hop one night and simply chill for the next couple of days. Each day can be completely different down in the Keys. All you need to do is determine which fun activities you want to do and then embrace your time together.
We all know that Paris screams romance, but do you know why? Imagine sitting high above the city at Sacre Coeur. You can enjoy the views from there, while eating a picnic lunch and drinking a bottle of wine. The Louvre will have you both finding your favorite works of art. Selfies with the Eiffel Tower in the background are always a must. But your best memories will be those moments you spend walking along the Seine, as you talk and eat freshly baked croissants.
Valentine’s Day offers opportunities to do something with your partner that you might not do during any other time of the year. During a romantic vacation in Sedona, you can visit vineyards, hike through the desert landscape, or fly high above that landscape in a hot air balloon. But my favorite Valentine’s Day activity in this city is attending the Verde Canyon Railroad Chocolate Lover’s Festival. Or you can take a train ride complete with the Chocolate Lover’s Special to really add some romantic ambiance to your trip.
Thrilling adventures abound over in the Swiss Alps, especially around Valentine’s Day. If you and your partner love having fun together, I recommend skiing in the Swiss Alps. Of course, if you get tired of just skiing, you can try out heli-skiing. For a different view of the mountains, I recommend paragliding. Time off the slopes can be spent by the crackling fire with drinks in hand, as you reconnect with each other.
These are some of the amazing romantic destinations to visit for Valentine’s Day. But don’t think you must choose one of these when you are planning a romantic vacation with your partner. There are so many other options, and I can help you find the destination that is perfect for the two of you.
