Sleeping in is not always an option when you take a family vacation at Disney World. Some of the best rides have long lines. And those lines get longer as the day goes on. So, if you want to ride a few of the more popular rides at Disney World, you must arrive early to avoid long wait times. Today, I am going to share the attractions to visit first thing at Disney World. You probably won’t be surprised with a few of the Disney attractions on this list.
Space Mountain is the most popular roller coaster at Disney World. It takes you on an adventure at 28 miles per hour. In complete darkness. The sharp turns and shocking dips are also what attracts so many people to this ride. It is common to stand in this line for a while later in the day.
Floating in a ship, with pixie dust flying around, is what makes this Disney attraction so popular. Not too many people can ride this attraction at a time. So, if you want to see scenes from the movie, arrive early or expect a longer wait.
This is another roller coaster at Disney World. It has been open for quite some time, and yet, the lines are still long! This ride is perfect for younger children or those who don’t like the thrills of some of the other coasters.
Star Wars is one of the newest attractions at Disney World. The hype around this ride was huge before it was even close to opening. And now that it is open, you will want to run there upon arriving at the park. This ride does stop working a couple of times each day. And the lines have been so long in the past Disney has closed the regular line down. When that happened, only those who had Lightning Lane access could ride. So, avoid the hassle and arrive early!
This is one of the newer family-friendly Disney attractions. Anyone who is not a Star Wars fan usually heads to this ride when they arrive in the park. Take a cue from them and do the same if you want a short wait time.
Everyone in your family must be at least 38 inches tall to ride this roller coaster at Hollywood Studios. If everyone isn’t tall enough, you will definitely want to arrive early, so you can take turns riding. Oh, and this ride has a long line right from the start. So, don’t make the mistake and say you will go back later. The line will be even longer then!
No one seems to be able to resist a little Aerosmith when they are visiting Hollywood Studios. So, plan on the Rock’ n’ Roller Coaster line being long almost all day long. If you can’t arrive super early to this ride, consider the Single Rider Lane. It may be worth heading on the coaster solo.
If your family can handle the ups and downs of this terrifying ride without backing out, it is best to arrive early. This is one of the favorite Disney attractions. The line gets long quickly. If this ride is near the top of your list, head there first or plan to wait for a while.
You won’t be able to let it go if you happen to skip past this ride when arriving at Epcot. This boat ride can be found in the Norway Pavilion. The ride may be short, but your wait will be long if you don’t make this your first stop.
Over at the France Pavilion, you will find Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure. This is one of the newer rides at the park, so the line gets long quickly. This is one ride you won’t want to miss.
The kids won’t be able to resist creating their own car design during this ride. Of course, the best part is testing that vehicle during a simulation. This is another one where the Single Rider Lane may be an option, depending on what time you arrive at the park.
If you haven’t been able to travel the world as much as you have hoped lately, this is the ride for you! This ride will take you to some of the most amazing landmarks around the world. This ride does seat multiple people at a time. However, that doesn’t mean the line will move as quickly as you would like it to later in the day.
This roller coaster has been designed to really wake you up, especially if you ride it first thing in the morning. During this ride, you will be trying to escape the Yeti. If your heart can’t take the extra adrenaline in the morning, there is a Single Rider Lane you can enter later in the day.
Africa is one of the best places to take a safari. Although, I am partial to Kenyan safaris myself. Anyway, if you haven’t been on a safari before, this Disney attraction will give you a glimpse into what you can expect during one. The animals are always the most active in the morning. So, even if you don’t want to avoid the lines, you should still arrive early.
The wait for this Disney attraction can easily be between one and two hours, if not more. If you want a chance to go on this ride with your family, arrive at the park before it opens. This will allow you to be one of the first to enter, so you can run to this ride. (Okay, for safety purposes, walk quickly, don’t run!). Then be prepared to feel like a banshee as you soar through the sky.
These are the attractions to visit first thing at Disney World. If you can’t seem to arrive early enough to be one of the first people in line, you may want to consider getting the Lighting Lane pass. I can help arrange that for you as I plan the rest of your family vacation.
