There are thousands of destinations you can travel to around the world. As a single woman, you may be surprised to know you can visit almost all of them without concern. So, start working on your list of dream destinations and venture out on an adventure! And yes, I know it may not be that easy. Especially if you haven’t traveled as a single woman before. Or have any idea of which destination to start with first. So, I am going to help you get your list started by sharing some of the best places for single women to travel. These destinations will help you find the perfect destination for your first solo woman vacation. Best Places for Single Women to Travel

Iceland

Iceland is an incredible destination. The safety in this country is one of the reasons why it is a best place for single women to travel.

A vacation in Iceland can include a drive around the infamous Ring Road or a visit to the Blue Lagoon. Tours to see the Northern Lights are available. And you can never go wrong when exploring the charming streets of Reykjavik.

You may even want to venture out on one of the well-traveled hiking trails to spend time near waterfalls and volcanoes.

Dubrovnik, Croatia

Another country with low crime is Croatia. The medieval city of Dubrovnik is the perfect place to visit in Croatia.

Within the city walls, you will walk along cobblestone streets, experience the local culture, and have the opportunity to see unique historic sights. When you aren’t walking along the city walls, you may find yourself at a local beach. Stop in the local restaurants for a bite to eat. And don’t forget to do a little shopping in the artisanal stores.

Salzburg, Austria

Salzburg, Austria is one of the best places for single women to travel, thanks to its storybook allure. Of course, this was also Mozart’s hometown, so music is a huge part of the vibe. And that appeals to so many people too.

Start your visit by reliving a few scenes from the Sound of Music at Nonnberg Abbey and the Mirabell Gardens. Rent a bicycle to ride along any of the one hundred miles of cycling paths or along the banks of the Salzach River.

A cup of coffee can be enjoyed out on the terrace of Café Tomaselli. Or if you prefer a nice cold beer, head over to Augustiner Bräu. It is the biggest biergarten in Austria.

Copenhagen, Denmark

Did you know that Denmark is one of the happiest countries in the world? Why not spend your solo woman vacation there!

In the capital city of Denmark, you can stay in one of the centrally located hotels. Wander along Nyhavn, which is a canal lined with multicolored houses. Tivoli Gardens is an amazing amusement park, and you won’t regret visiting by yourself. After all, you can go on any of the rides you want, as many times as you want.

Okinawa, Japan

You will have the experience of a lifetime when you choose to travel to Okinawa, Japan by yourself. In Naha, the monorail connects the airport to the center of the city. So, you can easily reach your hotel without too much of a hassle after landing.

If you choose to stay in the center of the city, you can walk to the Tsuboya pottery district, Makishi Public Market, and Namioue Beach. If you want to visit Shuri Castle, you will need to take another ride on the monorail.

London, England

You will never have a language barrier when you choose to vacation in London. Since the locals speak English there, many people consider London one of the best places for single women to travel.

Roam along the banks of the River Thames. Grab a bite to eat at a local pub. Watch a show in the West End. Eat your way through the Borough Market. And do a little window shopping at Harrods.

All these attractions and more can easily be reached via the London Underground, which is locally known as the Tube.

Ireland

The entire country of Ireland is travel friendly for everyone. As a single woman traveler, you will find plenty of things to add to your itinerary.

Experience the gorgeous views of the Cliffs of Moher. Drive along the Dingle Peninsula. Drink Guinness in a pub in Dublin. Learn how to make scones at a sheep farm or see the horses and gardens at Irish National Stud. Don’t skip a trip to Galway to do a little shopping too.

You can choose to drive around Ireland on your own. Just be prepared to drive on the left side of the road. Or you can take a bus tour, which I highly recommend as a single woman traveler.

Norway

The stunning country of Norway is one of the best places for single women to travel. It is a beautiful destination filled with fjords, mountains, and the stunning Northern Lights.

The cities of Oslo and Bergen are perfect destinations for exploring museums and galleries. Hiking trails are everywhere in Norway. However, Trolltunga and Preikestolen are considered the best.

Head to Tromsø to see the Northern Lights dancing in the sky. It is also a fabulous place to experience dog sledding and snuggling with dog sled puppies.

There are a few ways you can see all the sights in Norway. However, for single women travelers, I recommend taking a cruise. This way you can see the sights, as the cruise ship takes you from port to port.

Switzerland

Do you love chocolate? Skiing? Cheese?

If you said yes to any of those, you must take a vacation in Switzerland. This picturesque country is perfect for solo women travelers.

Up in the mountains, you can hike, ski, or go paragliding. Over in Zurich, you can shop, eat different types of cheese, and indulge in the vibrant nightlife. The museums and galleries in Zurich are packed with culture, which makes them must-see attractions.

History is best experienced in Geneva. That city is also where the Jet d’Eau is located. This fountain shoots water more than one hundred meters in the air.

I recommend taking a ride on the Bernina Express train. It’s a magical experience that will have you wanting to stay in Switzerland longer than you planned.

Costa Rica

Costa Rica is a diverse country. You can spend most of your time outdoors enjoying the rainforests and beaches.

Start your vacation with a visit to the Arenal Volcano before soaking in the nearby hot springs. Over in Manuel Antonio National Park, you can see sloths, monkeys, rainbow macaws, and other wildlife.

If you prefer time on the beach, venture over to the Nicoya Peninsula. Santa Teresa, Nosara, and Tamarindo Beaches are amazing. There are also quite a few yoga studios and spas in that area. Those are perfect for the rest and relaxation you need while traveling.
