Molokai might be one of the Hawaiian Islands that not too many people visit. But it is an island that has some amazing waterfalls to see! Those travelers who choose to spend part of their Hawaiian vacation on the island of Molokai will be rewarded with some fabulous opportunities. One of those opportunities will be venturing out to see some of the best waterfalls in Molokai.
Hipuapua Falls is one of the two waterfalls in Molokai that are located in Halawa Valley. This waterfall is 500 feet high. You can tackle a strenuous and challenging hike to this Hawaiian waterfall. It is best to see it from the seat of a helicopter, though. If your family does want to hike, it can be arranged during the summer months. You must be with a tour group to hike to this waterfall. It is a four-and-a-half-mile long hike, so you should plan on this being your main activity of the day.
The other waterfall in Molokai, located in Halawa Valley, is Maoula Falls. This waterfall is on private property, so a tour is a must if your family wants to hike to it. This hike is slightly less than five miles and will take you a good portion of the day to do. While the trail is mostly flat, there are stream crossings in two sections. If your family is not up for this long of a hike, you can also see this waterfall during a helicopter tour.
This waterfall in Molokai is quite impressive at 1,200 feet high. This is one of the waterfalls in Molokai that you must see via a helicopter ride. You may be able to take a boat ride to the falls, but you must find a local to take you.
The water flowing over the edge of Haloku Falls does not free fall. Instead, it basically slides over the edge and continues a vertical path along the cliff. To reach these falls, your family will need to take a helicopter tour.
These are the best waterfalls in Molokai. There are not too many listed because it can be difficult to reach many of the waterfalls on the island of Molokai. Helicopter tours are always going to be your best option when you want to see waterfalls during your vacation in Molokai. The helicopters can get you to see waterfalls from different angles without the hassle of hiking for hours. Plus, you can see numerous waterfalls in a short period of time. I can plan a helicopter tour for your family if you want waterfalls to be part of your itinerary during your Molokai vacation.
