As a businesswoman, you probably have accomplished so many things during your career. Maybe you started at the bottom rank and have worked your way to the top. Or you have brought in new accounts worth millions of dollars. Maybe you even started your own successful business, and it is continuing to thrive. But did you know you have so many other things you have been successful with? And that a few items you are unaware of should be on that list too? Today, I want to share why you should be celebrating American Business Women’s Day.
Let me start with a few fun facts.
Currently, there are approximately 74.6 million women in the workforce.
According to this article, only 30 women hold CEO positions at S&P 500 companies. And 13 women are CEOs of Fortune Global 500 companies.
Many American women in business choose to start their own businesses so they can accommodate their family’s needs. They want to set their own work schedule, even if it means working hours outside of the usual 9-5.
In 2018, there were 1.1 million women-owned businesses. That number is expected to be much higher when new data is released, thanks to the challenges women have faced over the last couple years.
There are many ways to show that you are successful at work. Whether you are a busy CEO, still working your way up the ranks, or a stay-at-home mom, you can be successful. Even stay-at-home moms make business deals.
Hey, have you ever tried negotiating with a toddler??! Or a teenager?? I’m not really sure which one is worse. Or maybe I do and just don’t want to commit…
Anyway, today is the day to celebrate everything you have accomplished as a woman in American business.
So, I want you to think about what you have accomplished in this past year. Consider all those work-related items.
Then I want you to think back to all those times you made it home in time for family game night. Or your child’s sporting events or even Parent Teacher Night. Those are all wins too!
No, they are not business-related. But as a businesswoman, you must make choices and still get everything checked off your to-do list. And if you made it to family events, then you are rocking it! And if you missed a few, well, life happens.
Now, think about the last time you went on vacation with your family. Has it been a while? How about a vacation with your significant other? Or alone?
Taking vacations is an important part of business. All vacations will allow you to relax, recharge, and re-energize. The result is always returning to work and being able to tackle all those remaining items on that ever-growing to-do list.
Are you in need of a few ideas of where to vacation and celebrate American Business Women’s Day?? Well, I have you covered.
