Do you want to take a quick five-day family vacation somewhere? Are you trying to find a destination that will allow you to have fun and make a few memories? Well, Colorado Springs may check off all the boxes on your list. This destination is beautiful at any time of the year. The warmer months can be spent outdoors, as you hike and do other things in nature. You can even spend the winter months outside. However, those months are usually spent skiing, snowboarding, and ice skating. Today, I am sharing a sample itinerary for a family vacation in Colorado Springs. I can easily personalize an itinerary for your family if you choose to visit this wonderful destination.
The first day of your family vacation will be spent flying to Colorado Springs. If you arrive early enough, your family will have time to wander around and explore. And if you caught a later flight, you will still get to use some of the amenities at the hotel before going to bed.
Today’s family adventure will be hiking through the Garden of the Gods. This hike is usually five miles long. However, there are shorter or longer hikes you can take. During your journey, you will see amazing red rock formations, as well as stunning views.
You will also learn the history of this land and why it is considered sacred.
Your family will have only seen a small part of Garden of the Gods during your hike. So, today you will all get to climb into a jeep to see it from a different perspective. You will see popular landmarks like Helen Hunt Falls, as well as some of the secluded areas. The last stop of the day will be Seven Falls.
Pioneers Museum was opened in 1896. Since then, it has collected and preserved items that share the cultural history of this area. The exhibits share the history of Colorado Springs, the life of Helen Hunt Jackson, and stories of beads, blankets, and buffalo.
You won’t need to spend all day at this museum. But a few hours will give you a glimpse into how Colorado Springs has evolved over the years.
Your family vacation in Colorado Springs will be coming to an end when you wake up this morning. It will be time to head back home and the hustle and bustle of life. But now that you have conquered one long weekend vacation, you know it is possible to squeeze a few in each year. After all, they are great for making memories with your family!
