Jackson Hole, Wyoming 

Jackson Hole is one of the best places to make memories with your family if you all love to ski. There are three ski resorts near Jackson Hole. When you are not skiing, you can all take a sleigh ride tour through National Elk Refuge or watch a performance at the Jackson Hole Playhouse.  

Other holiday activities include tree decorating, ornament making, ice skating, and visits with Santa in the town square.  Don’t forget to take a selfie near the Antler Arches when they are lit up at night. 

Branson, Missouri 

There is never a bad time to take a family vacation in Branson. After all, it is called the Live Music Show Capital of the World for a reason. However, a visit during the holidays will take your experience to the next level. Live entertainment is everywhere, and the performances focus on the holidays at this time of the year.  

Check out the Old Time Christmas Festival to see the six and a half million lights and one thousand decorated Christmas trees. This festival is held every day in December, so you won’t miss it if you only arrive a couple of days before Christmas.  

Leavenworth, Washington 

Have you ever been to a Christmas market in Europe? Well, if you haven’t, and you can’t get to Europe this year, head over to Leavenworth, Washington. This charming holiday town turns into a Christmas market during the Christmas Lighting Festival.  

On the weekends, half a million lights sparkle, as Christmas music plays in the background and Santa appears. As you walk around, you can do a little shopping, eat roasted chestnuts, and drink mulled wine. Your family may also want to make a few memories during a sleigh ride or a snowshoeing session.  

St. Augustine, Florida 

There is nothing wrong with being in a warmer destination for the holidays with your family. This is one of the best holiday towns to visit when you want to escape the snow and cold. In between stops at the Fountain of Youth, Castillo de San Marcos, and the Spanish Quarter, you can check out the Night of Lights. This is when the historic district is lit up and holiday festivities take place.  

Your family will love the horse drawn carriage rides, Old Town Trolley tours, and boat tours. All those activities are perfect for making holiday memories to cherish forever.
