Family vacation at Disney World? Here are 5 rules you may break! Are you typically a rule follower? If you said yes, you know how well following the rules results in amazing family vacations. However, as a travel advisor, I am known to tell my clients to break the rules when traveling on occasion. This is especially true for anyone traveling with their family to Disney World. A vacation at Disney World is a popular option for many families, yet there are some rules that don’t make sense for every family.
Yes, it would be nice to visit all four theme parks when you take a family vacation at Disney World. However, it is not a necessity! You may miss out on wonderful attractions and experiences. But you will see others in the parks you do visit. So, choose the parks you truly want to see and leave the others for another visit or skip them altogether.
Okay, so Genie+ is the newest version of the FastPass at Disney World. The idea behind Genie+ is you can schedule your time at a ride and essentially skip the line. The goal is to save yourself time since you won’t have long lines to wait in. There are plenty of Genie+ restrictions though, so this skip the line pass might not work as well as you think for your family.
One of the major restrictions with Genie+ is you can only skip the line for each ride once per day. That means if you want to go on Splash Mountain a dozen times one day, you must wait in line for that ride eleven times.
There are no steadfast rules of where you must stay while taking a family vacation at Disney World. Disney resorts can be a helpful solution for families like yours, because they offer transportation and other perks. Plus, their proximity to the parks makes it possible for you to return to your room at any point in the day for a little break.
You can easily break this rule though if you have a favorite hotel you love to stay in while you are traveling. Just keep in mind you will need to drive and park at the theme parks every day you decide to visit.
You will never go hungry when you are taking a family vacation at Disney World. The parks and resorts will make sure you eat. While it is best to make dining reservations in advance, it is not always necessary to do so. You can easily make reservations shortly before your arrival if you want to dine during off times like the middle of the afternoon. There are also plenty of quick service dining options at Disney for those visitors who like to go with the flow.
This may be one of the easiest rules to break when taking a vacation at Disney World. As a parent, you are most likely going to enjoy Disney World whether your kids are with you or not. And honestly, you may have a better time if you leave them at home!
And if you have a little baby at home, talk to your doctor and bring them whenever the doctor tells you it’s possible. You don’t need to wait until your children are a certain age to experience Disney World! Any age is perfect for the magic these theme parks share.
These are the five rules you may break when taking a family vacation at Disney World. You can easily break a few others if you want as well. As your travel advisor, I will let you know if breaking a rule will result in a less than perfect vacation.
