Spending time outdoors with your family can allow you to make such wonderful memories. Whether you spend time at a beach, out in the mountains, or in the middle of a rainforest. The choice is always yours as you are planning a family vacation. If you happen to want to head out in the middle of nowhere, and get off the grid a little, I recommend choosing a rainforest destination for your next family trip. There are quite a few rainforests all over the world. Today, I am sharing the best of these rainforests. Maybe one of them will pique your interest when planning your next vacation with family.
Daintree happens to be the oldest rainforest in the world. You will find this beautiful destination in North Queensland, Australia. Inside this forest, you will discover ferns and vines. However, you will also spot the Idiot Fruit Tree, Blue Tassel Fern, and the massive Blue Quandong.
Of course, you won’t want to miss seeing the spotted tail quoll, musky rat kangaroo, or the southern cassowary.
Kakum National Park is located in Ghana. This is the perfect rainforest for when you want to walk along the tops of the trees. The canopy walkway is suspended high above the ground. There are seven bridges that connect to platforms in the trees.
It is difficult to see the wildlife that lives within this forest. So, as long as you are okay with simply enjoying the solitude amongst the trees, this will be the perfect spot for your next family vacation.
Oh, and if you do spot wildlife, it may be a monkey, leopard, forest elephant, or flying squirrel.
The Toro Verde Adventure Park is in a rainforest in Puerto Rico. This adventure park is where one of the longest ziplines in the world is located. A ride on The Monster will have you cruising along one and a half miles of the rainforest. You will reach speeds of ninety miles per hour, as you lay flat and enjoy the heart racing views.
Tikal is an ancient Mayan city that can be seen in the Guatemalan rainforest. The tallest structures in this city are the only ones that can be seen above the tree line. If you choose to wander through this rainforest, be prepared to encounter howler monkeys and parrots.
In Borneo, you will find rainforests throughout the country. One of the best is Batang Ai National Park. During your visit, you can see orangutans in their natural habitat.
Oh, and if you aren’t staying close to this park, you can check out the orangutans in the other rainforests in the country.
Out of all the rainforests you can visit in the world, the Amazon might be the most popular. Everyone seems to want to explore the two million square miles of forest filled with wildlife. A tour through this forest may have you coming really close to jaguars, snakes, sloths, and monkeys.
These are some of the best rainforests to visit during a family vacation. One of these may be on your list or you may have your dreams set on seeing a different rainforest during your travels. No matter where your dreams are taking you, I can make them all come true by personalizing your family vacation itinerary.
