You may not be aware, but Fiji is home to more than three hundred islands! Only a couple more than one hundred of them have people living on them, so that at least narrows your options down a little bit. If you have been wanting to visit Fiji during one of your future vacations, you are going to want to consider one of the best islands out of them all.
Kadavu Island is the largest of all the islands within the Kadavu island group and it is never as crowded as many of the other islands in Fiji. However, it is the best place to visit if you love diving or exploring nature. You can spend your vacation diving to see the Great Astrolabe Reef, hiking through the jungles, or kayaking along the coastline.
Wakaya Island is part of the Lomaiviti Islands and there is only one resort on this island. The Wakaya Club & Spa is a luxury option that you will fall in love with during your Fiji island vacation. A visit to this island will have you playing golf, going scuba diving or snorkeling, and relaxing in the soaking tubs. Since this is a private resort area, you will not need to deal with super-sized crowds like the other islands.
Nature lovers will love staying on the island of Taveuni, because there are so many outdoor adventures to do there. I recommend beginning with the Lavena Coastal Walk before venturing over to the Bouma National Heritage Park. From there, you can see the Great White Wall, Waitabu Marine Park, and Rainbow Reef, but don’t forget to take time to see the Tavoro Waterfalls.
The largest airport in Fiji is on this island, so this is where you will begin your journey. Most people will stay on this island during their very first vacation to Fiji, because it is the easiest way to see the basics. You will want to consider staying in Suva, because it is the capital and where many of the popular activities can be found. However, you can travel over to Nadi as well. I recommend leaving the touristy areas to explore the mountain villages, the Sabeto Hot Springs and Mud Pool, and the Garden of the Sleeping Giant.
These islands are not too far from Denarau Island and there are twenty different islands to explore. You will want to plan on spending a lot of time at the different beaches on these islands, because they are the main draw. However, you can also have fun diving, surfing, and going on boat rides.
These are the best islands to visit in Fiji, but you can choose from all the others for your vacation too. I can help you find the island that will meet your needs the best for your next vacation in Fiji.
