Hot springs are also called thermal springs. You will discover hot springs in many places around the world. They are the perfect place to spend a little time when you need to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Today, I am going to share the best hot springs in Colorado. I recommend visiting at least one of them during a family trip to Colorado. You can also hike to one of the many waterfalls in Colorado.
One of the first places most people add to their list of hot springs in Colorado is Strawberry Park. You will find this park within Steamboat Springs. Most of the hot springs have been reinforced with unique stonework.
There is a reservation system for visiting these hot springs in Colorado. Only a specific number of people are allowed at the hot springs at one time.
It is important to note that the hot springs at Strawberry Park are within a remote location. Therefore, if you visit between the months of November through May, you may need to use a snowmobile to reach them. Or at least a vehicle with four-wheel drive.
Radium Hot Springs are located in Kremmling. It is a short one mile walk from the parking lot to these hot springs in Colorado. These hot springs are free, so they are usually more crowded.
There is a cliff right next to these pools. Everyone is welcome to jump from the forty-five-foot cliff into the water below.
Your family must stay in one of the cabins near these springs if you want to access them. No one else is allowed to soak in these hot springs or access the land.
If you are interested in camping during your family vacation in Colorado, this is the perfect option.
The Orvis Hot Springs can be found at the base of the San Juan Mountains. There are ten naturally fed pools. The temperatures of each one ranges from sixty-four degrees and one hundred twelve degrees.
These hot springs have high lithium levels. This is different than many of the other springs in Colorado.
If you stay at the nearby lodge, you can access these hot springs twenty-four hours a day. It is important to note that these hot springs are clothing optional. Keep that in mind if you are traveling with smaller children.
Many of the hot springs here are filled with warm or hot water. However, there is one freshwater pool that is much cooler. That pool is perfect for younger children, as well as those who can’t handle the hotter temperatures.
The minerals within the hot springs in Colorado are usually at perfect levels for many people. However, there are other experience pools here that were filled with water from hot springs from other areas of the world.
There are quite a few geothermal pools and hot springs throughout the city of Ouray. Some of that water is used within the Ouray Hot Springs Swimming Pools. The rest of the water is pumped into other manmade pools you can soak in.
It can be quite the journey to reach the Conundrum Hot Springs in Colorado. Your family will need to hike eight and a half miles to get to these hot springs. The two springs are surrounded by Aspen trees, as well as massive mountains.
If you choose to do this hike, you may be the only ones at these hot springs. Not many people make the trek.
