When you are traveling with kids, it can be difficult to do too many “adult activities”. You know what I am talking about. The tours via bus, visiting attractions, and even hours of shopping. Sometimes, the kids simply need a break from all those things during a family vacation. Thankfully, a quick stop at a park or a playground can allow them to get the wiggles out. After the kids are all played out, they will be more agreeable to getting back to business. If your kids love to play while on vacation, they will love these unique playgrounds.
There are five unique playgrounds over in Brooklyn Bridge Park. Your kids will love swinging like Tarzan. Although don’t be surprised when they are ready to move onto the two-story slide or the biggest sandbox in the city. Other playground fun includes a marsh garden and a water lab.
Playing is necessary for all children, even those with disabilities. Clemyjontri Park in Northern Virginia ensures all children can play and have fun during their visit. All the surfaces are wheelchair friendly. There is even a special swing for kids who are in wheelchairs. And when your younger kids are not on the carousel, you may find them on the low monkey bars.
When you arrive at MonstroCity, you may first think you are visiting a massive sculpture instead of a unique playground. But this sculpture is meant to be explored. As you are venturing through the tunnels and secret passageways, keep an eye out for the two antique airplanes. Oh, and there is a giant ball pit in there too. The kids will love that!
The Gathering Place has only been open since 2018. However, the five-acre park has become quite popular over the years. There are seven different sections. Each of the sectiona was designed for specific age groups. Little ones will love Volcanoville. And the zip line is perfect for the teens in your family. The sensory garden and accessible ramps ensure that every child can access this unique playground to have fun.
The Diana Memorial Playground was constructed near Kensington Gardens in honor of Princess Diana. This unique playground was inspired by Peter Pan. Kids of all ages will love wandering through the tree forts and teepees. However, it is the pirate ship in the middle that will spark their imagination the most.
You will discover this park over in the 20th arrondissement in Paris. Parc de Belleville is considered the best playground in the city. It is a wooden playground complete with a climbing wall, play tower, and a massive slide.
Five different sections make up Playground Kloden over in Denmark. Your kids can imagine they are exploring the world in each one. Although, they already are during your family vacation in Denmark! They’ll just be more thrilled with the volcanic climbing wall based in the West Indies.
Another unique playground in Denmark is the Nature Playground in Copenhagen. This playground has been designed to look like a village. Inside the village, your family will discover willow huts, towers, bridges, a maze, and a walking path in the shape of a snail.
Godzilla is the main feature of this unique playground in Tokyo. It is made from tires and stands two stories tall. There are three thousand other tires on the playground. They have all been transformed into tire swings, climbing sculptures, and slides.
Just to the south of Tokyo is another unique playground in Japan. The Hakone Open Air Museum is like any other museum. But one of the sections is a kid-friendly rope structure. Kids ages twelve and under can climb and bounce their way through the colorful ropes.
At Parque Gulliver, your kids, and even you, can slide down a sculpture of Gulliver. There are numerous slides, so you can slide all the way from the top of his head down to his toes.
These are just some of the unique playgrounds you can visit on your next family vacation. There are many others that you will discover, as you spend your time making memories with your family.
