A vacation in Hawaii may be considered paradise, but what creates this paradise-like ambiance and atmosphere differs from person to person. Some people may consider the white sandy beaches to be paradise, while others will believe it is the most picture-perfect weather this state has to offer. However, many people like yourself think that the waterfalls on these islands give Hawaii their paradise feel.
Akaka Falls is one of the few waterfalls in the state that flows all year long. This is why it is such a popular one on Hawaii Island. You will find this waterfall inside Akaka Falls State Park, and you can see it from many different vantage points along the loop trail.
If you are planning on spending some time on the island of Maui during your vacation in Hawaii, you must place Waimoku Falls on your list of things to see. You can easily hike the Pipiwai Trail within Haleakala National Park to reach this waterfall. You can see firsthand why it is considered the most unforgettable waterfall on the island.
The island of Kauai has many waterfalls, but it is Wailua Falls that will capture your attention the most on your vacation in Hawaii. This is a small waterfall at only eighty feet in height. However, there are two or three tiers of water flowing over the top all the time. While you can hike to this waterfall, most people do the three-mile drive along Maalo Road instead. It is usually best to do this drive in the morning. This is when you will see a few stunning rainbows.
During your vacation in Hawaii, you may wish to consider Kauai Island. The Manawaiopuna Falls can only be seen while riding in a helicopter, so you will want to plan accordingly if you want to see this popular waterfall during a trip to Kauai. Oh, and in case you are unaware, this is the waterfall that was used in scenes in Jurassic Park.
Oloupena Falls can be found over on the northeastern side of Molokai. It is considered the tallest waterfall in Hawaii, estimated to be two thousand nine hundred fifty-three feet. This makes it the fourth tallest waterfall in the entire world. The water from this waterfall goes directly into the ocean, but don’t expect to hike to see it in person. The only way you can see this beautiful sight is either from a boat in the ocean or a helicopter in the air.
These are the waterfalls that everyone must see when on vacation in Hawaii. If you love spending time at waterfalls, or if you simply just love being outdoors and seeing everything nature has to offer, this will be your dream vacation come true.
