Do you know how to stay healthy while traveling? With all the germs that are lurking amongst airplanes, hotels, and even major attractions around the world, there are a few precautions you must take while traveling. Thankfully, these precautions are things you normally do when you are home or have a sick child staying home from school. Today, I am sharing seven tips for staying healthy while traveling, so you can enjoy every moment of your next family vacation.
It is important to wash your hands numerous times throughout the day. Make sure you are doing it properly to stay healthy while traveling.
If you are unsure if you have been scrubbing your hands long enough, sing the happy birthday song twice. This tip is helpful for young kids who are always in a rush when it comes to washing hands!
There are many ways you can boost your immune system to stay healthy while traveling. But an easy one is to add vitamin C or Emergen-C to your daily routine.
Check out these tips for boosting your immune system while traveling for your next family vacation.
Since you never know what will happen when you are on vacation, it is always an excellent idea to have extra medication with you. This will ensure you do not run out when you are away from home.
Make sure you take the different medications each family member will need for any illness. While you can find most medications at the pharmacy here in the US, this is more difficult when traveling overseas.
Jet lag is a thing. While you may be all revved up to see the sights when you arrive at your destination, you must take a little time to adjust to your new time zone.
I recommend taking it easy on your first day, so you have the energy to keep going for the rest of your family adventures.

Disinfectant wipes can be used to wipe down areas of an airplane, a table and chairs in the airport food court, and so much more. These little wipes can keep those germs at bay, so you do not need to worry about catching anything.
I recommend packing a few in your carry-on bag and a few others in your checked in luggage. This way you will have plenty for your entire family vacation.
As I mentioned above, it is so easy to get out of your routine and stay awake for longer when you are on vacation. However, you need as much sleep as you normally get if you want to stay healthy.
Don’t be afraid to stop and take a break for a nap in the middle of the day. Waking up a little later than usual or going to bed earlier are other options to make sure you are getting the sleep you need. After all, skipping sleep will not allow you to stay healthy while traveling.
Tips for getting enough sleep while traveling.
In the days and weeks leading up to your vacation, you should eat more healthy foods than normal. You should continue this while on vacation too. Although, I do give you permission to splurge every once in a while.
After all, you are on vacation! Just don’t overdo it with those donuts for breakfast and huge chocolatey desserts at dinner!

These seven tips will have you staying healthy when you are traveling the world, no matter how many germs you encounter along the way. Simply use these tips for your next family travel adventure and see how easy it is to incorporate them into your already busy days.
