Christmas may be long over, but now is the perfect time to start planning your next Christmas holiday vacation with family. Time away together is perfect for making memories. You can all talk, laugh, and enjoy those small moments. All without the interruptions of work, school, and other obligations. Today, I am going to share a few of the tropical destinations that are perfect for holiday vacations with family.
Barbados may be a small tropical destination. It packs a punch, though, with the number of things you can see and do. Add in the year-round sunshine, delicious food, and multiple beaches, and you will have a family vacation for the record books.
Mysterious shipwrecks dot the water off the coast of Barbados. Get a few thrills by snorkeling or diving around them with a guide. If that doesn’t excite you, maybe swimming with sea turtles or riding a submarine will.
Exploring Harrison’s Cave can be fun. Your family may prefer experiencing the pirate life firsthand on a pirate cruise though.
The Bahamas is a great tropical destination. The only issue some people have is choosing the best island for their family vacation.
Over on Grand Bahama Island, you can all explore Lucayan National Park. Pink Sands Beach can be found on Harbour Island. The color comes from the coral insects with red and pink shells.
In Nassau, it is all about shopping at the Straw Market. Although, most families enjoy the waterslides at Atlantis Paradise Island more. If you aren’t in the mood for waterslides, try relaxing on Cabbage Beach. Everyone else can get their energy out in the water.
If you want to spend time in the ocean, check out Thunderball Grotto. It is an underwater cave system that can be found to the west of Staniel Cay. This is the perfect spot for swimming and snorkeling with marine life.
The beaches on the island of Antigua are definitely the highlight of any family vacation. And honestly, you could spend hours relaxing on them as the kids swim.
If your family can’t fathom that much downtime, hike to Shirley Heights for panoramic views of the island. Grab a few selfies at Devil’s Bridge. Or learn about the history of the largest sugar plantation at Betty’s Hope.
You might even want to do a little shopping at Nelson’s Dockyard. No kid can turn down spending money! I recommend eating these local foods too.
There are plenty of family-friendly adventures waiting for you in Saint Lucia. This tropical destination boasts lots of outdoor activities. Start with a trip to the Rodney Bay area. While there, you can spend time on Reduit Beach before exploring Pigeon Island National Landmark.
The Pitons are perfect for those unique pictures you need from a family vacation. You can hike Gros Piton to see the views from the top. However, I urge you only to hike this trail if you are an experienced hiker. It can be dangerous for those who are not used to hiking.
A less strenuous activity would be wandering around Diamond Falls Botanical Gardens. Or driven by the active volcano of Sulphur Springs.
Hanging out at your resort may seem like the best thing to do while on a family vacation in Jamaica. However, this tropical destination has so much to offer if you venture further out on the island.
Dunn’s River Falls and Park is close to Ocho Rios. If you are staying in Negril, then your family will want to spend time on Seven Mile Beach. And it is all about golfing over in Montego Bay.
Other fun family activities include ATV rides and ziplining adventures. Oh, your family may want to check out the Bob Marley Museum too.
These are tropical destinations that are perfect for holiday vacations with family. I have shared other ways to connect with family during the holidays. You don’t need to spend another Christmas at home, especially if you live in a colder climate. Instead, I can plan a fabulous vacation your entire family will love.
